Description

StudioBinder is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our Content & Editorial team.

StudioBinder builds production management software used by filmmakers, agencies, brands, and creative teams to plan and collaborate on productions. Alongside our platform, we run one of the largest educational resources in the production industry. Our blog reaches 1M+ readers each month, and our YouTube channel has over 2M+ subscribers.

If you enjoy creating visual systems, designing compelling graphics, and helping great content stand out, we’d love to hear from you. Visit our Careers page to learn about our work culture, benefits, and the typical work day.

What You’ll Do

As part of the editorial and video teams, you’ll help design the visual elements that support StudioBinder’s articles, videos, and marketing content.

Your work will include designing featured header images for blog posts, creating visual assets, charts, and infographics that help explain filmmaking concepts, and polishing up product screenshots with annotations and call outs. You’ll also collaborate with copywriters, editors, and motion designers to create graphics for social media, marketing pages, and video content.

Much of the work involves translating ideas into clear and engaging visuals—ensuring the design supports the story being told.

A Typical Day

A typical day might begin by reviewing a newly written article in Google Docs—sometimes it includes a placeholder image from the writer, other times an editor’s note for a new infographic.

After reading the post, you gather references for the infographic, and define a visual approach.

You then move into design. You open Sketch to create the article's featured image using existing templates. This part is quick and straightforward. From there, you shift to the infographic, which is more nuanced. Based on your research, you prototype a few variations, review the options, refine the strongest direction, and export final assets for publishing later in the week.

Some days you’ll be designing YouTube thumbnails, others enhancing product stills with visual callouts. The goal is always the same: create clear, engaging visuals that help ideas land.

What We’re Looking For

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have 3–5+ years of experience in graphic design
  • Are highly proficient with Sketch, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Have strong design fundamentals (typography, layout, color)
  • Pay close attention to margins, spacing, and visual hierarchy
  • Are organized and thoughtful about file structure and layer management
  • Collaborate well with writers, editors, and video teams
  • Have an interest in filmmaking, storytelling, or visual media

Experience designing for digital publications, blogs, and social media is a strong plus.

How to Apply

If you're interested in the role, we’d love to hear from you.

Email us at hello@studiobinder.com with your resume, a short cover letter, and a link to your portfolio.

In your cover letter, please include:

  1. A brief introduction about yourself and why you're interested in the role. If you have any filmmaking or video production experience, we'd like to know.
  2. Your experience level with Sketch. If you’ve used it, share one thing you like and one thing you don’t.
  3. One StudioBinder article where you think design could enhance the post (e.g. a header image, infographic, or visual breakdown). Please include a link to the post.
  4. A redesigned graphic based on your idea (attach it or include a link).
